Research & Development

Turning emerging technology into mission-relevant capability. iCES explores high-consequence technologies through the lens of security, systems integration, and operational value.

01

Post-Quantum Cryptography

We research and apply quantum-resistant cryptography based on NIST's FIPS 203, 204, and 205 standards, along with crypto-agile designs, so data and communications stay secure for the long term.

02

Quantum Machine Learning

Research applying quantum machine learning methods to complex mission problems.

03

Agentic AI

iCES designs and builds agentic AI systems: teams of AI agents that plan, reason, use tools, and act within defined guardrails to complete multi-step mission and business workflows. Our research focuses on agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop oversight, secure tool access, and auditable decision trails, so autonomous systems can be trusted in mission-critical and regulated environments.

04

Sovereign AI

Sovereign AI keeps models, data, and inference under the owner's control. iCES architects AI capabilities that run on-premises, in government-accredited clouds, or at the disconnected edge, with no dependence on outside providers for sensitive workloads. We combine secure model hosting, data governance, supply-chain assurance, and Zero Trust controls so agencies can adopt advanced AI while protecting classified, controlled, and proprietary information.

05

AI-Driven Digital Engineering

iCES applies AI across the digital engineering lifecycle, connecting model-based systems engineering (MBSE), requirements, and design data into a single authoritative source of truth. AI agents help ingest legacy documents into SysML v2 models, check consistency and traceability, generate and evaluate design alternatives, and speed up verification, cutting cycle time while improving quality on complex defense and Federal programs.

06

Digital Twins

Our digital twin research builds living, data-connected models of systems, platforms, and infrastructure that mirror real-world behavior. By fusing sensor data, physics-based and AI models, and MBSE architectures, iCES digital twins support predictive maintenance, mission rehearsal, what-if analysis, and cyber-resilience testing, letting teams evaluate decisions virtually before acting in the real world.
