Professional Affiliations

iCES believes in a strong collaboration with a community of partners and practitioners that include academia, industry, and other organizations to advance the discipline and practice of systems engineering.


INCOSE – The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a not-for profit membership organization founded to   develop and disseminate the interdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems. Mr. Ghafari has been a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) organization for many years. Mr. Ghafari is a former president of INCOSE WMA where he helped develop its Handbook and Body of Knowledge, the SE Guidebook, Certification and SEBOK.

​AFCEA International  –  The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is an association which connects government and the industry through IT. AFCEA serves the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security.


 

Project Management Institute (PMI) – Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world’s largest association for project    management professionals.

National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)​ – National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) provides a legal and ethical forum   for the interchange of ideas between the government and the defense industry.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology.

Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) – Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) is the largest technology council in the nation and is a membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia.
